ಆದಿವಾಸಿ ಬುಡಕಟ್ಟು ಪಂಗಡಕ್ಕೆ ಸೇರಿದ ಕೊರಗ ಜನಾಂಗದ ಕುರಿತು, ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯಪೂರ್ವದಿಂದಲೂ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರ ಮತ್ತು ಅಂತರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳು, ಸಂಶೋಧಕರು ಹಾಗು ಅಧ್ಯಯನಕಾರರು - ಆಳವಾದ ಅಧ್ಯಯನ ಮಾಡಿ ಹಲವಾರು ಕೃತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

1875ರಲ್ಲಿ M. T. Wallhouse ಎಂಬ ಬ್ರಿಟೀಷ್ ಸಂಶೋಧಕ ಹಾಗು 1885 ಉಳ್ಳಾಳ ರಾಘವೇಂದ್ರ ರಾವ್ ಎಂಬವರು ಕೊರಗರ ಜನಸಂಖ್ಯೆ, ಸಂಸ್ಕ್ರತಿ, ಆಚಾರ ವಿಚಾರ ಮತ್ತು ಭಾಷೆಯ ಕುರಿತಾಗಿ ಸಮಗ್ರ ವರದಿ ತಯಾರಿಸಿ ಆಗಿನ ಮದ್ರಾಸ್ ಸರಕಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ('Restless for Christ' ಅನ್ನೊ ವರದಿಯೂ ಮದ್ರಾಸ್ ಸರಕಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಕೆಯಾಗಿತ್ತು.)
ಅಷ್ಟೇ ಅಲ್ಲದೆ, ನಮ್ಮವರೇ ಆದ - ಬಾಬು ಕೊರಗ ಪಾಂಗಾಲರು, ಅವಮಾನವೀಯ ಅಜಲು ಚಾಕರಿಯ ಸ್ವರೂಪವನನ್ನು ತೆರೆದಿಡುವ - 'ಅಜಲು ಒಂದು ವಿಶ್ಲೇಷನೆ' ಎನ್ನವ ಪುಸ್ತಕವನ್ನು ಹೊರತಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
